Toss # 9 Date: 08/22/2008 Location: Georgetown School Release Time: 07:05 Elevation: 2649 Feet
The birds that trapped 20th and 21st both have injured/broken wings and have not been actually going on the training tosses. We have been putting them on the landing board or letting them go from a short distance to let them stretch out their wings and slowly gain strength. Wing injuries are tough to deal with and I'm not sure if either one of them will be able to train or race again. At this point I'd say FSC-7411 has a decent chance of flying again. |
This was the 4th and final toss at 6 miles and the birds seem
like they are ready to be jumped to the next location (which as mentioned in
the journal is not the easiest of transitions). All of the birds came
on the drop this toss and many of them flew quite a while once they came in.
At this point on the early tosses, the birds tend to fly a round a bit once
they get home, especially on the cooler mornings. So if you see your
bird trapping later it's actually a good sign that they like to stay up and
fly a long time. No Losses See Scanned Results Below: You can find your birds by band number and the initials of your name or loft name Example DG = Duane Gragg. This should be the next to last time I have to actually scan the results as after Sunday we will hopefully be using the Tipes One Loft Software to handle the training tosses. |
